Kochi Photo Walk

Ohashidori Shopping Arcade

Haven’t uploaded photos in my photogallery since June or something, so I finally got on my lazy ass and sorted some out to upload. Although I’ve only progressed with 1 day of photos so far (^_^);;

So I’ll show you a bit around the neighboorhood where I live in :)
Oh and I acidentally set the photo settings on 4:3 which explains the crap resolution (>.<)

In front of my appartment building

In the neighbourhood. The sign board on the right is from a cram school.

The NHK building, just a block away

Tenjinbashidoori. I always pass this route on my way to school and home.

Alleyway in Tenjinbashidoori. A few Izakaya (traditional Japanese drinking place) are located here.

Main road

Kochi is one of the few cities in Japan with trams :)

Ohashidoori Shopping Arcade. Photo was taken during the Tanabata season (a Japanese holiday, you should google it) which explains the flag/banner in the top of the photo.

Side street of Ohashidoori

Notice the whale picture on the ground (at least if you can see it). Kochi is famous for selling and cosuming whale. I ate it too :) Although it wasn't that good imo...

The entrance to Hiromeichiba, a big indoor market (one of the only ones in Japan)

The side of Hiromeichiba

Tosa Joshi High School (all girls), the school that I'm attending this year :) It's actually the smallest high school in Kochi!

Not a lot of people as you can see (no one at all actually :o). Welcome to the countryside of Japan!

Palm trees!

Actually Kochi is the manga city in Japan. A lot of older famous manga writers were born in Kochi (like Takashi Yanase from Anpanman) and there is also the National Manga Championship every year in Kochi where one has to draw one page that fits the theme that's been given (usual society/news related themes). This is one of the many winners (1999) viewable in the manga route.

Manga exhibition street

Obiyamachi shopping arcade. Right in between home and school so I often pass here to eat, game, hang, do 100 yen shopping or just strolling :)

Kagami river right around the corner. Nice spot for sitting and relaxing (at least during the spring & summer).

@ Kagami river.

Cat.

You can see the rest here :)
